This makes it easier for technicians to apply aerosol treatments that reach deep into carpets and under furniture. For best results, all residents, including pets, should vacate the home for two to three hours after treatment.

In addition to vacuuming and professional treatments, washing pet bedding and household fabrics regularly can help reduce flea populations. Flea eggs and larvae often hide in soft materials, so laundering these items in hot water can kill them before they mature.
